Let's cut ourselves a break and dispel the notion that work-life balance is about achieving some state of static equilibrium where we are killing it across all of life's pieces and they are of equal weight. That's impossible and we'll burn out chasing it.
Instead, let's focus on aligning work and life with our vision and values so what we do agrees with the WHO we are. Maybe that means you focus more on a few areas and less on a few others because doing so aligns with what matters most to you now. That's how we feel fulfilled and take back control of our lives. And that's what most of us really want, not "balance".
